What do I wear for riding lessons?
Full Moon Farm lesson helmets can be used temporarily, but we require that you have your own for competition and safety purposes ensuring a proper fit. Riders are required to wear riding boots (paddock boots and half chaps or field boots) and riding breeches (no leggings or jeans). No tennis shoes or other pants of any kind can be worn to ride at the facility.
The team makes a trip to a local tack shop every semester to allow members to get apparel and equipment if they desire.

How long is a lesson?
Lessons are an hour long. But, this is not including the tacking and untacking of your horse and the transportation to and from the barn. To be safe members should allow for approximately 3 hours for a lesson.
35 minutes transportation + 20 minutes tacking + 1 hour lesson + 20 minutes untacking + 35 minutes transportation = 2 hours & 50 Minutes

Do I have to show to be on the team?
All members are required to show. In order to maintain our club sports status at Loyola and to be eligible for a university issued budget our team must compete and show in the IHSA. We only accept members who wish to show for the entirety of the school year.
If you have never shown before it's a great way to get involved in the showing world in a calm and easy-going environment. If you have been showing for years and are worried about not having enough competition to go up against, fear not. We are in one of the best regions for horse showing and go up against some of the top IHSA programs from schools in our region and zone.
